References and Resources
A list of various references and resources that I have used to better understand my journey. This will continually grow as more research and development is conducted personally and also globally regarding FND.
FND Organisations and Professionals
FND Hope – FND Hope is operating in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
FND Australia Support Services – FND Australia Support Services is the first FND charity in Australia.
FND Guide – Prof. Jon Stone’s website. Prof. Jon is a Neurologist based in Scotland who has been researching FND since 1999. The Fact Sheets on this site are very helpful, of which I link to on this website.
FND Australia – Dr Alex Lehn’s website. Dr Alex is a Neurologist here in Queensland, Australia. Dr Alex has provided some information for patients and treating professionals but also some educational videos. Most helpful is the database of health professionals (Australian) who possess an interest and expertise in FND.
Useful Resources
Understanding Functional Neurological Disorder – by Rehab HQ – YouTube video which provides a physiotherapist’s approach to assisting patients with FND. Please note that the author states that FND is rare and has a disclaimer that she does not work with many FND patients, however, I do appreciate that she validates our symptoms.
